Purposefully Breeding Highland Cattle for Future Generations
Discover Our Commitment to Excellence and Heritage
At Roaring Rocks Highlands, every breeding decision is intentional. Our program is focused on producing structurally correct, gentle, maternally strong Highland cattle that contribute positively to the American Highland Cattle Association [AHCA] breed registry while preserving the traits that have made Highlands exceptional for centuries.
About Our Herd
At Roaring Rocks, our Highland cattle are more than livestock — they are an essential part of the land’s rhythm, energy, and story.
Known for their iconic long horns, flowing coats, and gentle nature, Highland cattle are one of the oldest and most resilient breeds in the world. Originally from the rugged Scottish Highlands, they are uniquely adapted to thrive in diverse environments, making them both hardy and low-maintenance. But beyond their physical resilience, what truly sets Highlands apart is their calm, curious temperament and the peaceful presence they bring to the land.
There is something undeniably grounding about standing in a pasture with these animals — watching them graze slowly, move intentionally, and exist in a way that feels deeply connected to nature. They remind us to slow down, breathe deeper, and return to a more natural pace of life.
Herd with a Little Magic
Our herd at Roaring Rocks carries a touch of whimsy and wonder — inspired by the world of Harry Potter series.
Each of our Highlands is named after beloved characters, bringing personality and storytelling into everyday farm life. From bold and spirited to gentle and wise, each animal seems to embody the essence of their namesake in their own unique way.
What started as a simple love for the breed quickly grew into something more meaningful — a herd that reflects both our family’s personality and our vision for the land: a place where magic, nature, and connection coexist.
Meet the Herd
Harry Potter
Fleur [Delacour]
Fleur [Delacour]
Just as the famous wizard grew from an unlikely hero into a legendary leader, Harry Potter is destined to become the heart of our breeding program. Calm, confident, and quietly impressive, Harry possesses the strength, temperament, and pedigree we hope will shape future generations at Roaring Rocks Highlands.
While he's still writing his story, we believe his greatest magic lies ahead—as our future herd sire, leaving a legacy of exceptional Highland cattle for years to come.

Fleur [Delacour]
Elegant and ethereal, Fleur moves through the pasture with a quiet grace that feels almost otherworldly. Her light silver coat catches the sun beautifully, giving her a soft, luminous presence that perfectly matches her gentle demeanor.
Fleur tends to keep a calm, observant distance, yet there’s a warmth to her that draws you in. She embodies softness, beauty, and quiet confidence — a grounding and peaceful presence within the herd.
Ginny [Weasley]
Fleur [Delacour]
Ginny [Weasley]
Ginny is all heart — spirited, curious, and full of life. As a young heifer, she brings a playful energy to the pasture, often seen exploring, interacting, and finding her place within the fold.
Her warm yellow coloring reflects her vibrant personality, and there’s a quiet strength beneath her youthful curiosity. Ginny represents growth, courage, and the next generation of Roaring Rocks.
Bellatrix
Bellatrix
Ginny [Weasley]
Bold, striking, and impossible to ignore — Bellatrix carries a presence that turns heads the moment she steps into view. Her rich black and brindle coloring gives her a dramatic, almost mystical look, while her confident nature keeps her at the center of the herd’s energy.
Despite her intensity, there’s a curiosity about her — she’s often the first to investigate something new and isn’t shy about making her presence known. Bellatrix reminds us that strength and individuality have a place here, and she brings a powerful energy to the land.
Pandora
Bellatrix
Pandora
Named for Luna Lovegood's endlessly curious mother, Pandora reminds us that the best adventures often begin with a little faith and a lot of wonder. Gentle, wise, and quietly dependable, she's the kind of Highland cow every breeding program hopes to have as its foundation.
Pandora carries herself with the calm confidence that defines the Highland breed, and as she welcomes each new calf into the world, she helps write the next chapter in the story of Roaring Rocks Highlands. Her greatest legacy won't be found in ribbons or accolades, but in the generations she'll leave behind.
Around here, we believe a little magic begins with remarkable mothers—and Pandora is certainly one of them.
Hagrid
Bellatrix
Pandora
Steady, dependable, and quietly watchful — Hagrid is the grounding force of the herd. With his classic dun coloring and sturdy build, he carries a calm strength that helps create balance among the group.
He’s often content grazing or observing, bringing a sense of safety and stability to the pasture. Much like his namesake, Hagrid has a gentle soul beneath his strong exterior and plays an important role in the herd’s harmony.
